Child & Youth ServicesThe Child and Youth Services Team aims to provide flexible, integrated responses to meet the childcare, youth and family support needs of our local community. We do this by offering a range of services such as: Foster CareProviding children and young people unable to live with their families with a safe, caring and nurturing environment in the homes of approved foster carers while ensuring that they maintain their sense of belonging and connectedness to their families. Limited Hours Childcare
Licenced Centre based childcare for children 18 months - 5 years. Children enjoy developmental activities and play, interacting with children of mixed ages, under the guidance of caring and qualified staff. This service is provided 4 days a week for up to 4 hours.
Rumpus RoomProviding on-site childcare for families who are engaged in activities on the premises such as training, morning teas, support groups and community working parties, and also as a Playgroup facility. Mobile PlaybusA mobile play van that visits local communities offering families in the community the opportunity to connect with Kyabra workers while allowing their children a space to play and develop. Other Useful WebsitesThe Commission for Children and Young People promotes and protects the rights, interests and well-being of all children and young people in Queensland. The Child Care Information Service is a free statewide information service provided by the Department of Communities. The service operates from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and provides information to assist families in choosing child care that meets their needs. The Department of Child Safety is a department dedicated to protecting Queensland's children and young people, and ensuring they are safe from abuse and neglect. The Bub Hub provides a directory of services and products for pregnancy, babies and toddlers, designed for all parents, parents-to-be and their families needs. The National Childcare Accreditation Council is an administration service for the Quality Assurance Systems for family day care, outside of school hours care services, and, long day care centres across Australia.
